Centenary Sabha session in Sivasagar from Feb 8

GUWAHATI, Jan 18 - The much-awaited centenary celebrations of Asam Sahitya Sabha will be held at the Padmanath Gohain Baruah Kshetra of the historic Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district from February 8 to 12.

The Pratinidhi Sanmilan and the executive body meet of the Sabha will also be held at the same venue.

The decision was taken at the meeting of the proposed presidium of three Vice Chancellors with the Sabha at the Guwahati Circuit House today. The meet also decided that the presidium of three VCs would discharge their responsibilities as Advisory Council till the time of formation of the new executive body.

The vice-president of the Sabha, Prahlad Tasa will assume charge as president-in charge.

Informing this in a statement, the Sabha general secretary-in charge, Abani Mohan Chaharia appealed to all concerned to lend a helping hand to the Sabha in celebrating the centenary in a befitting manner.
