Centenary celebration of Harisabha concludes

GUWAHATI, Jan 20 � The concluding function of the year-long centenary celebration of Sanatan Dharmasabha (Harisabha), a leading socio-cultural organisation of Panbazar was held on January 18 with a day-long programme.

Accordingly, morning programme was started with the hoisting of flag of Harisabha by Ashish Sengupta, president of the organisation, while the Sradhanjali was offered by Dr Manjumala Das, president of the celebration samitee. The open session started at 11 am with a theme song of Harisabha and welcome address by its president Dr Manjumala Das.

A book �Sahitya Sanskrity Dharma� published by Harisabha, highlighted the pros-cons of all aspect about it comprising of articles in respect of Sahitya, Sanskrity and dharma. Arun Sarma released the book and in his address, he lauded the efforts of Harisabha in maintaining integrity and harmony among the various sections of people of the society. Renowned poet and retired DGP Harekrishna Deka, present in the meeting as a distinguished guest stated that Harishabha was �landmark� of Guwahati and this heritage building �Sabha Griho� should be preserved at all cost. Dipti Phukan Patgiri, HoD of Assamese GU also spoke a few words. The meeting was conducted by Pranab Goswami, while the vote of thanks was offered by Kamal Chandra Goswami, a press release stated.
