CBSE basketball meet ends

GUWAHATI, Nov 22 - The CBSE Cluster I Basketball Tournament, being hosted and organised by the Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar, which commenced on November 19, drew to a close yesterday.

Jagadish Barman, assistant secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Guwahati and Father John, Principal, St Claret School, Borjhar attended the closing function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

Dr Nripen Kumar Dutta, the Founder & Principal, Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar, in his concluding speech spoke of the exemplary camaraderie, enthusiasm and skills displayed by both boys and girls teams.

Results: (Semifinals, boys) APS, Jorhat bt ARPS, Shillong, SFS, Narengi bt MBRS, Guwahati. Third position: MBRS, Guwahati bt ARPS, Shillong. (Semifinals, girls) SFS, Narengi bt MBRS, Guwahati, EMRS, Sikkim bt Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School, Amingaon. Third position: MBRS, Guwahati bt Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School, Amingaon.

Finals: (Boys) St Francis de Sales School, Narengi bt Army Public School, Jorhat. (Girls) Eklavya Model Residential School, Sikkim bt St Francis de Sales School, Narengi.

Best players: (Boy) Kaif Irfan T Ahmed of APS, Jorhat. (Girl) Laxmi Kachari, SFS, Narengi.
