GUWAHATI, Aug 28 - Following the State government�s request, the Union government has handed over the investigation of the Lafikul Islam murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Union Minister of State for DoNER, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, etc., Dr Jitendra Singh today informed Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal of this decision of the Union government over phone, an official press release here stated.
