Cancer awareness prog held at Patacharkuchi

PATACHARKUCHI, Feb 9 - As a part of the golden jubilee celebration of Indian Dental Association, World Cancer Day was observed by the organisation�s Pathsala branch at Milanpur recently in order to generate awareness among the masses.

In the awareness meeting, Dr Rupam Choudhury elaborated on oral cancer and its preventive measures. The meeting was presided over by Gautam Talukder. Dr Trisanka Kalita and Dr Pragyan Das were present as guests of honour. Dr Dhanjit Das, a gynaecologist elaborated on various aspects of breast cancer.

Saraju Das, a survivor of head and neck cancer was felicitated in the programme even as the patient shared information about her emotional, physical and financial hardships during her fight with cancer.

Kaushik Patgiri, who cycled to the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu at Dhola from Pathsala and Nitul Tahbildar from Pathsala Cycling Club also attended the event. Around 100 people were present at the cancer awareness programme.
