Call to reject nominations of Gaurav, Ranee

GUWAHATI, March 22 � The Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS), the student wing of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), today alleged that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi�s son Gaurav Gogoi has concealed the fact of his holding shares in a company in his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.

It has also alleged that Union minister Ranee Narah has also concealed some vital information about her landed property, etc., in the affidavit she submitted to the Election Commission.

The SMSS has demanded cancellation of the nominations of both Gaurav Gogoi and Ranee Narah. It has also stated that it would move the police in this connection. In case the Returning Officers concerned and the police fail to initiate steps against Gaurav Gogoi and Ranee Narah, the SMSS warned that it would move the court to settle the score.

In a statement here, the SMSS said that Gaurav Gogoi in fact is a director, along with his mother Dolly Gogoi, of the Natural Inheritance Agro Private Ltd. This company was formed on July 11, 2013 and its registration number is � 011593 and its corporate identification number is � U01407AS2013PTCO11593. The address of the company is � House No 55, Ajanta Path, 1st Bye-lane, Guwahati.

Incidentally, this house is the private residence of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, said the SMSS.

Gaurav Gogoi has 700 shares in this company, each worth Rs 100, while his mother Dolly Gogoi has 300 shares of equal value in this company.

The SMSS said that it has collected all these information from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs by paying the required fees for that.

Similarly, it said Ranee Narah concealed the fact that a plot of land measuring 1 bigha, 1 katha and 18 lechas at Baihata Chariali was donated to her by one Mukibur Rahman on November 30, 2004. The plot of land was worth Rs 13 lakh and 80 thousand at that time.

Narah also received a plot of land measuring 3 kathas as donation from her sons Rajiv Narah and Rahul Narah in Beltola area of the city on October 12, 2009. The value of the plot of land was Rs 3 lakh and 90 thousand at that time.

Moreover, the Minister also owns a three-bedroom flat at the Sarusajai Games Village measuring 1250 square feet, said the SMSS.

Meanwhile, the KMSS has lodged complaints against the police officers concerned who assaulted its activists in the Dighalipukhuri Par area of the city on March 19, 2014.
