By Correspondent

KAZIRANGA, June 10 - An emergent meeting was held today at the office of the SDO (Civil) at Bokakhat to discus ways to prevent any kind of untoward incident which may arise after the death of two innocent youths at Dokmoka in Karbi Anglong on Friday evening.

The emergent meeting was convened by the Sub-Divisional Officer of Bokakhat Vivek Shyam and was attended by representatives of different social organisations coming from different parts of Bokakhat sub-division, including AASU and AATSA, besides TE managers and mediapersons.

The SDO asked the TE managers to maintain strict vigil in their respective plantations and check the activities of any anti-social elements. He also asked them to conduct awareness campaigns in the TEs in order to prevent rumour mongering. He also urged the AATSA leaders to remain vigilant in their respective areas and report about any untoward incident to the nearest police station.

Bokakhat Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bitul Chetia asked all present to maintain peace and harmony and inform the police about any wrongdoing in their respective localities.

During the meeting, suggestions were offered by many citizens to check the activities of anti-social elements through fake news and sensational messages via whatsapp and Facebook.
