NARAYANPUR, Jan 4 � The people of lower Lakhimpur have demanded the formation of a civil subdivision at Narayanpur.
It may be stated that the public owing allegiance to various organisations, political and non-political, in the vast area of lower Lakhimpur, inhabited by several lakhs of people belonging to different castes and communities, will be benefited if a subdivison is established at Narayanpur.
It may be mentioned here that the demand for establishment of a civil subdivision at Narayanpur is long-standing. As per records, the then Commissioner of Northern Assam once visited Narayanpur and its surrounding areas and submitted a report to the Government for establishing a civil subdivision at Narayanpur, the most convenient place of lower Lakhimpur.
A memorandum regarding the establishment of civil subdivision at Narayanpur was submitted to the Chief Minister recently, urging necessary measures for the same as soon as possible.
