GUWAHATI, Nov 21 - To support the rights of children and to raise a voice for the least unheard section of society, Universal Child Rights Day was celebrated at the Don Bosco School ground today.

The function was organised by Matri in collaboration with Snehalaya, Child Friendly Guwahati, Raang, World Vision, Child Line, Fasce India, Utsah, Children Home for Boys - Fatasil Ambari, Seven Sisters and Shishu Sarathi.

A walkathon was the main focus with the theme �Stop Violence against Children�, which took place from Don Bosco School to Dighilipukhuri and back to Don Bosco School.

Around 800 children with 200 staff walked the rally coming from the NGOs mentioned above. Famous actress Barasha Rani Bishoya who was the chief guest of the programme, flagged off the walkathon.

There were cultural items from each organisation, where the underprivileged children participated. There were snacks, juice and lunch provided to each participant.

The event concluded with a message that all children have full entity towards their rights and it is the seniors who should ensure full rights to the children at risk.
