Cachar students secure 7 positions

SILCHAR, June 5 � In the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) examination 2012, results of which were declared yesterday, seven positions were secured by students from Cachar district.

Among them, four positions were in Science and three in Commerce. All these star students belong to Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Silchar

Shankhaya Chakraborty secured the first position in Science. He scored 482 marks out of 500 and is the son of Jagannath Chakraborty and Sumita Chakraborty. He hopes to become a scientist.

Jugal Kishore Rathi secured first position in Commerce. He scored 446 marks out of 500. He is the son of Joy Prakhash Rathi and Madhushri Rathi. In the absence of Jugal, his parents said they wanted him to be a Chartered Accountant. Both of them serve at Ramanuj Gupta Junior College. Sandipan Choudhury secured the fourth position in Science. He revealed that he devoted only 5 to 6 hours per day in studies. He wants to be an engineer or doctor. He scored 463 marks out of 500.

Sougata Roy scored 5th position in Science . He devoted 12 to 13 hours per day in studies and scored 461 out of 500 marks. He is a student of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College of Arts and Science. He wants to be an engineer or doctor.

Raj Shekar Kumar Nath secured 7th position in Science from Ramanuj Gupta Junior College of Arts and Science. He scored 457 out of 500 marks. In Commerce, Siban Dutta stood third. He secured 427 out of 500. Ankita Goswami stood fourth in Commerce. She secured 425 out of 500. Simanta Dutta, Director of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College of Arts and Science expressed satisfaction over trhe results and said that it was a matter of pride.
