Cachar Police keeping vigil on coal-laden trucks

SILCHAR, Sept 5 - At a time when report of illegal tresspassing of foul players running away with large consignments of coal from Cachar district has triggered a lot of curiosity, Cachar SP Rakesh Roushan has claimed that all the incidents brought before the media carry no substance.

Briefing the media on the issue at his office on Tuesday, Roushan said that police has been maintaining a strict vigil on the movement of coal-laden trucks from the district, particularly through Digarkhal along the Assam-Meghalaya border.

�A thorough checking has been done and it was found that all the vehicles coming to Barak Valley from Mariani in Jorhat district and Margherita in Tinsukia district for local use have valid documents including challan, GST documents and other necessary papers. We have sent the available documents to the Sale Tax department for verification. If any irregularity and illegal affair are detected, no one will be spared,� the SP maintained.
