Cachar Paper Mill to be revived

By Correspondent

HAILAKANDI, March 27 - Addressing another huge election rally at Kalinagar, 25 km from Hailakandi, today, the Prime Minister assured the people of Barak valley of reviving the only industry of the region the Cachar Paper Mill of Hindustan Paper Corporation at Panchgram of Hailakandi district. Modi said the mill was closed by the Congress government blocking the economic development and for the benefit of few vested interested people.

He said that the entire Barak valley is lagging behind in all aspects and promised before a two-lakh crowd that the road connectivity and other developmental activities will be intensively taken up within one year if the BJP comes to power in the State.

He also indirectly hinted that the security of the people of Barak valley is a prime concern of the Centre and a legislation will be brought in the Parliament soon with a view to safeguarding the future of Hindu migrants, although he didnt mention the word Hindu migrant clearly.

Modi said that development will be intensified rapidly after the opening of the Silchar-Saurastra Mahasadak (East West Corridor) and he assured that he will take up its completion within one year and will inaugurate it in Gujarat. He also blamed the Congress government in the State for delaying the project.

Modi said that the wind of change is blowing everywhere and that it will be a difficult task for the Congress to win the Assembly polls in the State. The Congress will have to face the consequences of squeezing the people of the State in the name of development, he added.

Modi reiterated that his fight was not with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi but with the backwardness and poverty of the people of the State. He also termed the growing unemployment problem of the State as unfortunate. He said that there are four big rivers, but everywhere there is scarcity of drinking water and asked the people to find out who is responsible for this.

Like other meetings, Modi also projected Sarbananda Sonowal as the chief ministerial candidate of the party in Assam and said Desh main anand hi anand hain aur Asom main Sarbanand hain.
