Cachar admin conducts voter awareness drive in fringe areas

Silchar, March 5: In a bid to enthuse voters even in the fringe areas, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli joined the medical team of Bikrampur Block Primary Health Centre at a health camp at the hilly terrain in Zoar Basti village, around 65 kms from the district headquarter. In sync with the health camp, voter awareness drive was also held in the village engaging local people.
Interacting with local people , Jalli assured the local residents that improved health facilities would be provided to the villagers in the coming days.

The Deputy Commissioner visited the polling station where voters of the village shall cast their voters on the election day. According to sources in the administration, a mock poll was also conducted to acclimatise electorates of the far-flung area with the ways to cast votes during election. The village headman Vanher expressed happiness on the visit of the Deputy Commissioner.

DPM NHM Rahul Ghose informed that around 120 patients undergone health check up at the camp and free of cost medicines were also distributed. SDM & HO Bikrampur PHC, staff of the election branch attended the camp and the awareness drive.
