Byaling elected NPP Legislature Party leader

ITANAGAR, Aug 10 - Former Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister and sitting MLA of Nacho constituency, Tanga Byaling, has been elected as the leader of the National People�s Party (NPP) Legislature Party and his Bordumsa-Diyun counterpart, Nikh Kamin, as the deputy leader.

Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi was elected as the spokesperson of the NPP Legislature Party. They were elected at a meeting of party MLAs held under the chairmanship of State NPP president Gicho Kabak here on Thursday.

The State NPP president has moved the Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly for recognition of Tanga Byaling as the NPP Legislature Party leader and Nikh Kamin as his deputy and arrangement of their seats accordingly.

The NPP had a shot in the arm in Arunachal Pradesh last month with seven out of the nine MLAs of regional People�s Party of Arunachal (PPA) including Byaling, Kamin and Mithi shifting allegiance to the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma-led party.
