NAMRUP, May 31 - Keeping up its previous glory, BVFC Model High School here brought laurels to Namrup by securing the 2nd and 9th positions in the HSLC examination, the result of which was declared on Wednesday.
Tannayoee Hazarika bagged the 2nd position with 98 per cent marks by securing 588 marks out of 600. She obtained 93 in Assamese, 99 in English, 100 in General Mathematics, 97 in General Science, 100 in Social Sciences and 99 in Advance Mathematics. She is the daughter of Hiranya Hazarika and Monti Gogoi Hazarika.
Besides, Ayan Deep Saikia, son of Pronob Kumar Saikia and Beauti Saikia secured the 9th position by scoring 581 marks out of 600 with 96.83 percentage. He obtained 87 in Assamese, 98 in English, 100 in General Mathematics, 99 in General Science, 97 in Social Science and 99 in Advance Mathematics.
Tannayoee Hazarika who secured 2nd position wants to be a doctor while Ayon Deep Saikia wants to become an engineer.
It may be added that all total 426 students appeared in the HSLC examination 2017 from Namrup centre out of which 287 students came out successful. One hundred and thirteen students secured 1st division and the overall pass percentage is 67.37.
