IMPHAL, July 27 - At least 21 buffaloes were reported to have died due to a mysterious disease in a remote hilly village in Manipur�s Senapati district, villagers said on Friday.
The villagers spotted the dead buffaloes belonging to nine families in the forest of Thingba Khunou village.
Sixteen dead buffaloes were spotted on Wednesday while three others on the following day. Two more dead buffaloes were also spotted in the village land this morning, Village Chairman PT Tholi said on Friday.
Meanwhile, Joint Director of State Veterinary department Dr Sani Pao said that the buffaloes could have died because of food poisoning as there is no sign of symptoms of any diseases.
A team from State Veterinary department has visited the village on Friday and collected samples for examination, according to the villagers.
