GUWAHATI, March 1 � Bud Cricket Club posted a six-wicket victory against City Cricket Club in the final of the Uma Charan Bania Trophy T20 Day/Night Cricket Tournament at the Judges� Field here today.

In the low scoring title clash, batting first City boys were restricted to 107 for nine. Almost all the batsmen failed to counter the Bud bowlers barring Manasjyoti Gogoi who scored 27 off 34 balls. Paceman Jogeswar Bhumij wrecked the City innings with a rich five-wicket haul giving away only 15 runs. Bud, without facing any crunch situation, hit up 111 losing four wickets in 18.3 overs. Biplab Saikia was their top scorer with 34.

Sunil Ranjan Gogoi of City CC walked away with the man-of-the-tournament trophy while Jogeswar Bhumij received man-of-the-final award. Prahlad Gayan (Ankurjyoti), Jogeswar Bhumij, Ram Kripal Gupta (GTC) and Manoj Malo (Bud CC) were adjudged as best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and best wicket keeper respectively.

In the closing function, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Principal Secretary of Planning and Development Department, Sanjay Kumar Magoo, Chief General Manager of SBI NE Circle, Satyen Deka, senior advocate, Rajib Prakash Baruah, ADC, Sonitpur, BP Gupta, AGM PR, SBI were present as guests. NEEDS general secretary Manoj Choudhury offered vote of thanks.
