GUWAHATI, Feb 22 � Bud Cricket Club B team emerged champions in the 13th Jugal Kishore Newatia Cricket Tournament with a thumping 109-run victory against City Cricket Club in the final at the Nehru Stadium here today.
Riding on two cracking knocks by inform State Ranji player Gokul Sharma (84 off 99 balls) and Amit Agarwal (67 off 58 balls) Bud piled up a mammoth 222 for six in the stipulated 40 overs.
The City boys had a poor chase and were all out for 113 in 31.4 overs. Raj Agarwal was their only notable contributor with 38.
Gokul Sharma deservingly won the man-of-the-final award while Jyotiraditya Chetia of Bud A was adjudged as the man-of-the-series. Pusparaj Sarma (Bud B) and Amit Sinha (Bud A) were selected as best bowler and best batsman respectively. On the other hand Hokaito Zhimomi (Red Bulls) and Amit Agarwal (Bud B) received the best fielder and best wicket keeper awards.
