MANGALDAI, May 10 - The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has donated a plot of land and Rs 1.5 lakh to football prodigy Chandan Boro who is undergoing training at Bittburg in Germany.

Chandan was selected for a six-month training in Germany by Tata Sports Academy and at present he is in his home town Harisinga in Udalguri district on a vacation.

Chandan proved his talent under his local football coach Samuel Basumatary in a U-13 selection camp in Kokrajhar from where he was spotted for the Germany camp.

Meanwhile, the Tata Sports Authority has expressed willingness to set up their main football training centre under BTC at Harisinga. Talking to this correspondent Atul Boro, a former State level footballer and one of the coaches of the Harisinga Football Coaching Centre said, �The Tata Sports Authority has asked us to arrange necessary land exclusively for this centre and we are corresponding with the local public organisations and civil administration for a plot of land.�
