BTAD indigenous Muslim body to support BPF

MUSHALPUR, April 6 - A good number of political and non-political organisations of the BTAD have extended support to the BJP-AGP supported BPF candidates in a number of Assembly constituencies in the BTAD.

Ajijur Rahman and Anowar Hussain, president and secretary respectively of the Sadou BTAD Khilonjiya Muslim Parishad have extended open support to the BJP-AGP supported BPF candidates and informed that they have been organising election campaigns in favour of BPF candidates Kamali Basumatary of Paneri, Maheswar Boro of Kalaigaon and Imanuel Mushahary of Tamulpur.

Meanwhile, in a press release, Niranjan Madahi and Jolti Madahi, president and secretary respectively of the All Assam Madahi Tribe Students� Organisation, have also extended open support to the BJP-AGP supported BPF candidates in the greater interest of the Madahi community.

The Baksa District Ex-ULFA Coordination Committee has also supported the BPF candidates for equal rights and equal development of all the people in the district. The committee said they have been helping the BPF candidates in Tamulpur, Barama and Chapaguri LACs in Baksa district.

Moreover, Tamulpur District Koch-Rajbongshi Sanmilani president Nagen Das and its secretary Nandeswar Roy have informed that in view of the BPF�s assurance to help Koch Rajbongshis in their ST status demand, the Sanmilani has decided to extend support to the BPF candidate in Tamulpur LAC.

Cash seized by flying squad

Morigaon, April 6 - The flying squad (Team No. 1) under Morigaon Legislative Assembly Constituency yesterday seized cash worth Rs 1,14,000 from one Faizuddin at Telahi Chariali area under Dharamtul police station. The flying squad was led by Uddhab Deka and was accompanied by SI of Dharamtul police station Abdul Quddus, a press release stated.
