BSNL executives stage dharna

GUWAHATI, May 13 - As part of a series of nationwide agitational programmes under the banner of United Forum of BSNL Executives Associations (Comprising AIBSNLEA & AIGETOA associations), the executives of BSNL in the city took part in a day-long dharna today to protest against �total inaction of the BSNL management� on a host of critical HR issues affecting the executives.

The executives have warned of intensifying the stir if �the management remained adamant and failed to address the genuine HR fallacies created by its own wrong policies.�

The demonstration was also organized at all the SSA headquarters of BSNL Assam Circle. The demands of the executives include standard pay scales for the youngest executive cadres in BSNL such as JTOs/JAOs and SDEs/AOs, as in the case of other CPSUs; immediate implementation of CPSU hierarchy and a standard promotion policy as is being followed in top PSUs; all recruitment to be made at entry level cadre only, implementation of complete 30 per cent superannuation benefits for new executives; declaration of Limited Internal Competitive exam for promotion from JTO(T) to SDE(T) that had taken place one year back; and special recruitment of JTOs/JAOs for �hard-tenure circles� like Assam and formulation of Rule 8 transfer policy to provide relief to most affected executives, among others.
