BSF personnel seize smuggled cattle

HATSINGIMARI, Nov 14 � The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Mohamaya BoP under the 62 Bn BSF seized 16 buffaloes being smuggled through the Brahmaputra river. The buffaloes were caught in an operation in the river near the Indo-Bangla border at Chalpara (Mollapara) village under South Salmara police station of Dhubri district.

The BSF team notice that a large number of buffaloes were being taken towards Bangladesh through the river by cattle smugglers who escaped from the place, leaving the buffaloes behind. The buffaloes were seized near the border pillar No. 1042. Some smuggled cattle entered Bangladesh because itwas difficult for BSF jawans to catch all the cattle flowing in the swift river. The buffaloes were handed over to Hallidaygonj customs office.
