SILCHAR, OCT 10: Constable Shiv Yogi Pandey of Lakhipur BOP of 7 Bn of the BSF allegedly shot dead his colleague and injured another head constable over an argument on Tuesday night.
Karimganj SP Gaurav Upadhayay informed on Wednesday that the accused constable was on duty when he got into an argument at around 9.15 pm with two head constables of his company.
Pandey opened fire with his Insas rifle and shot 9 rounds due to which head constable Ashok Kumar Kangaria (45) died on the spot and another head constable AR Pal got seriously injured.
The accused, who absconded soon after the incident with his Insas rifle and two loaded magazines with 40 rounds of live ammunition and a wireless set, has been apprehended from Karimganj town on Wednesday early morning, the SP added.
