BSF, 1st Bn NDRF celebrate I-Day

GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - The Border Security Force and 1st National Disaster Response Force celebrated the Independence Day at their Patgaon camp. Sudhir Kr Srivastava, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter BSF Guwahati, hoisted the flag. After flag hoisting, sweets were distributed to all. Sweets and fruits were also distributed among the patients of the BSF Hospital.

Addressing the gathering, Srivastava said, �We are blessed to be the citizens of an independent country. India has scores of challenges to maintain peace inside and along the border. Being the members of elite force who have always heralded the tradition of neutralizing anti-national elements, I hope the brave soldiers will triumph on every front.�

Commandant (Officiating) of 1st Bn NDRF Satish Kumar Shastri�stated that the 1st Bn NDRF deployed at Patgaon, Guwahati, is always ready to render its service to humanity in the wake of any disaster in any part of the country, specially the Northeast. �1st Bn NDRF is specially trained for emergency response with the help of state of the art equipments and modern gadgets for rescuing people at the site of disaster. Since the deployment of 1st Bn NDRF in the North East, it has saved the lives of thousands of people by deploying its highly skilled and well equipped search rescue teams.� The celebration concluded with a cultural programme.
