Broadcast of science-based radio serial

GUWAHATI, Jan 4 � Broadcasting of the science-based 26-episode Assamese radio serial Param Sakha� Paramanu, prepared by the Assam Science Society started at 9-30 am today from the Akashbani Guwahati station of the All India Radio. The episodes will be broadcast at 9-30 am every Sunday.

The serial is designed to provide the radio listeners with some information about formation of the atom. Its episodes are based on the discovery of the atom, its formation, and its connection with the practical aspects of life.

Secretary of the Society Dr Dhireswar Kalita said that after each of the episodes, the listeners would be asked to answer two questions. Three among those providing the highest number of correct answers would be rewarded after the serial ends. They would be provided with a scope to interact with experts or scientists at the valedictory function, Dr Kalita said in a statement.

Each of the listeners would also be able to send two questions to the organisers of the serial after completion of each of the episodes. Three best questioners will be rewarded.
