BRO provides free education material to needy students

DOOMDOOMA, April 9 - Project Udayak, a project of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was set up in 1990 with its headquarters here.

To provide education to the wards of the service personnel and the casual paid labourers (CPL) working with the project, Udayak Sishu Niketan was established in April 1997. The Sishu Niketan gradually rose to the status of Udayak Primary School and presently provides education up to Class-V. Free education is provided to the wards of the CPLs in the school.

On the eve of the beginning of the new academic session of the school, a special programme was organised at the project headquarters on Saturday to distribute textbooks, exercise copies and stationery to the wards of the CPLs.

Addressing the students and the parents of the school on the occasion, Brigadier Rakshvir, Chief Engineer of Project Udayak and the patron of the school, emphasised on the importance of education and observed that every child, whether rich or poor, has the right to education.

Kavita Jain, Principal of the school in her address expressed gratitude for the guidance and continuous support from the patron.
