GUWAHATI, Aug 27 - Former AGP chief Brindaban Goswami, along with colleague Apurba Bhattacharya, who later joined Congress, and TDP leader Rammohan Rao, today appeared before the Munsif Court 3 in connection with a case related to violation of poll code of conduct in 2006. The then Circle Officer and Assistant Returning Officer of 53 Guwahati East constituency, SR Bora, had registered a case under Sec 126(1) of the Representation of People�s Act, 1951.
The case was registered after the trio addressed mediapersons on April 2006 at 11 am in the AGP party headquarters, which, the then Circle Officer alleged, had amounted to violation of the laid down rules. The next date of hearing has been fixed on September 24.
