Bridge washed away near Tamulpur

MUSHALPUR, Aug 31 - The flooded Baralia river washed away a bridge at Doamakha, connecting Lotibari while 15 families were rendered homeless by the Daranga river in Tamulpur subdivision of Baksa district. Though Motonga (Nona), Puthimari, Baralia, Daranga and Pagaldiya rivers had inundated as many as 100 villages, water receded on Sunday afternoon. Arampur village near Nikashi was inundated by Diring river while Barama, Kaljhar, Alagjhar, Saronpara, Kharua and Juluki areas under Mushalpur subdivision continued to be under water due to flood caused by Mora Pagaldiya river till the time of filing of this report on Sunday.

Mahadananda Hazarika, DC, Baksa, Bhabani Prasad Sarma, PD, Baksa and Ansumwi Khungur Boro, EM, BTC and the BDO, Barama visited the affected areas in Barama and took stock of the situation.
