Brajamohan Sarma memorial lecture

GUWAHATI, Sept 17 � The Brajamohan Sarma Memorial Annual Lecture will be delivered by Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University and former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, at Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Uzan Bazar, tomorrow at 11 am. He will speak on �Hunger: A scientific construct of reality�.

Dr Udayan Misra, National Fellow, Indian Council of Social Science Research, will inaugurate the lecture and Justice Dhiresh Narayan Choudhury, former Judge of Gauhati High Court, will preside over the function.

The annual lecture is the seventh in a series of lectures organized by the Brajamohan Sarma Memorial Trust, a philanthropic body dedicated towards empowering the downtrodden and building awareness among the masses on contemporary issues.

The trust also extends legal help to the poor and needy, besides giving away an annual award to the student of Bajali Higher Secondary School, Pathsala, who secures highest marks in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination every year. The award for this year will also be given away to Abinash Medhi, who had secured the 16th position in the HSLC Examination 2010 from Bajali Higher Secondary School, at the same function.
