By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, July 26 - Water level of the Brahmaputra along the city has risen to dangerous levels on account of heavy rainfall at many places in upper Assam and central Assam in recent days. Officials of Kamrup Metro district administration said the water level along Fancy Bazar, Bhootnath and some other locations has crossed the danger mark. Ferry services between the city and North Guwahati have already been suspended.

Officials said if the level continues to rise then water can enter some parts of the city by later this night or tomorrow morning. The water resources department and district administration are monitoring the situation, said an official.
