Brahmaputra, Dhansiri flowing over danger level in Golaghat dist

DERGAON, July 11 - The Brahmaputra and Dhansiri rivers are flowing over the danger level and maintaining a rising trend in Golaghat district on Saturday.

As per the report of Central Water Commission (CWC) at Bokakhat and informed by the DIPRO in-charge Papu Gogoi both the rivers at Dhansirimukh and Numaligarh are flowing above the danger level.

As per the report, Brahmaputra at Dhansirimukh is flowing at 76.47 metre against the danger level 75 metre while Dhansiri is flowing at 78.02 metre against the danger level 78.42 metre.

Considering the fact, Golaghat Deputy Commissioner Bibhash Ch Modi has urged all the residents of the district to be alert against the havoc of upcoming flood.

He has also asked to dial the toll free number 1077 during any kind of emergency.

Meanwhile, a total of 10,658 people of 28 villages of the district have been affected as on today. A total of 337.74 hectares of crop land of Bokakhat, Dergaon and Khumtai revenue circles have also been affected as on today.
