SHILLONG, Sept 24 - The funeral of former vice principal of St Edmund�s School, Brother Peter Gomes was held today at Goa. He had passed away on Saturday at the age of 94.
Born on July 25, 1923, Br Gomes joined the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1948 and worked in different schools run by the congregation and spent 32 years at St Edmunds School, Shillong, as a Maths and Science teacher.
Loved and respected by students and fellow teachers alike, the demise of Br Gomes has been condoled by a large number of people from Meghalaya.
Meanwhile, a prayer service would be held at the school chapel of St Edmund�s tomorrow at 2.30 pm, said principal of St Edmund�s College, Sylvanus Lamare while condoling the death.
