KOKRAJHAR, March 24 � The Bodoland People�s Front (BPF) today formally announced the names of its two candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary announced the names at a party meeting at Mijing Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
Senior party leader and present State cabinet minister Chandan Brahma has been named as the BPF candidate for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat and for the Mangaldai Lok Sabha seat, Sahadeb Das has been named as the party candidate.
The decision was taken during a marathon meeting of the party�s executive committee at Mijing Nwgwr. It may be mentioned here that altogether five candidates had applied for the party ticket from Kokrajhar seat, including four-time winner and veteran party leader sitting MP SK Bwisumuthiary. Unfortunately he did not get ticket this time.
