BPF asks AIUDF to prove involvement of MLAs

UDALGURI, July 29 � �A responsible parliamentarian like Ajmal should not have made such irrespponsible communal remarks in such a critical period and we, the BPF party workers, condemn such derogatory comments and ask him to prove our involvement,� Rihon Daimari, MLA of Udalguri LAC and president of Udalguri district committee of Bodoland Peoples� Front (BPF) said this in a press meet held today at the party office here in Udalguri town.

Condemning the Ajmal remark as an inflammatory one, he asked Badaruddin Ajmal, president of AIUDF to prove his allegation in which he had said that all the 11 MLAs of BPF were involved in the recent riots in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri districts.

Daimari also observed that Ajmal has made a very sensitive allegation which might add fuel to the already the tense situation in the region. He also opined that there is no difference in getting rights under the provision of BTC accord and Constitution of India in the BTC region among the Bodos and non-Bodos.

�We are all enjoying our rights eqaually here including the nono-Bodos and Ajmal should realise it,� he added.

The press meet was also addressed by Rakheswar Brahma, MLA of Mazbat LAC who said that the BPF is thinking to file a defamation case against Ajmal for his �inflammatory allegation�. The press meet was also addressed by Kartick Ch Boro, MCLA of Harisinga constituency.

Later in a press statement issued by him, Daimari appealed all sections of people of Udalguri district not to rely on any form of rumours and help the district administration to keep law and order for a permanent peace in the region.
