Booklet on Dhubri�s heritage released

DHUBRI, Dec 30 - With an aim to promote the heritage sites in and around Dhubri district, a comprehensive booklet titled, Dhubri Heritage was released recently at the Deputy Commissioner�s conference hall.

The booklet was released by former Principal of Bhola Nath College, Prof Girindra Nath Goswami in the presence of a host of other dignitaries like State vice-president of BJP Bimal Oswal, noted social worker Binoy Bhattacharjee, among others.

The booklet has been published by Eastern Panorama, a news magazine and authored by senior journalist Bijoy Kumar Sharma. The booklet explores not only the heritage sites of Dhubri town but all the important historical and religious sites of Dhubri district.

While addressing the meeting, Principal of Bhola Nath College Dr Dhruba Chakrabortty highlighted the importance of preserving the heritage and the glorious past of this part of Assam, which has almost been forgotten. He also said that the scenario is changing now. �With constant efforts put forward by some people to highlight the importance of this place, things seem to be changing and days are not far off when Dhubri district will regain its past glory,� he said.
