Book with one sentence released

JORHAT, June 17 � Noted litterateur Imran Sah today released a book comprising of only one sentence with 5555 words authored by Sunil Kumar Saikia at a function held at Radhakanta Handique Bhavan, Asam Sahitya Sabha here today.

Sunil Kumar Saikia, a teacher of Jan Khowa ME School, wrote this children�s book named Dissoi Paaror Mel (A gathering on the bank of Dissoi), which has 5,555 Assamese words, 534 commas and 11 semi-colons.

The meeting was presided over by Nagen Bora, president, Jorhat branch of Asam Sahitya Sabha. Trilok Bora, principal of Mahatma Gandhi College, Jorhat, Kailash Sarma, noted litterateur and Abhijit Baruah, co-ordinator of India Book of Records for Assam and many other dignitaries were present in the meeting.

In the beginning, a tribute was paid to Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala. The sentence was certified to be correct by a number of litterateurs, including former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Nagen Saikia.

�My aim is to make the Assamese language known throughout the world,� said Sunil Kumar Saikia. He further said that he would like to get the book recognised by the India Book of Records and then try for the Guinness World Records.
