PATACHARKUCHI, June 20 - A book on verse titled Janasamudrar Sito Par written by poet Purandar Patgiri was released on Sunday in a function at Bajali College by Dr Surajit Barman, principal, North Kamrup College in the presence of a host of book lovers.
The function was presided over by advocate Giridhar Sarma. While Dr Bihasgiri Basumatary, principal, Bijni College attended the function as the chief guest, Chakradhar Deka, principal of BB Kishan College participated as the appointed speaker. Mahadananda Hazarika, DC, Baksa was the special guest. The function was arranged by Writer�s Forum, Pathsala.
During the function, the Writer�s Forum felicitated and conferred the title �Seuj Konwar� on Ananda Khataniar, a nature lover of the locality for his immense contributions in the field of plantation under the banner of Green Mission, Bajali for the last several years. He has also successfully generated awareness on environment in the area. The title was conferred on Khataniar by the Deputy Commissioner, Baksa.
