GUWAHATI, Aug 19 - A book titled Fundamentals of Bridge Design, written by engineer Chandan Sarma, was released at Guwahati Press Club this afternoon. Dr NK Choudhury, former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University released the volume.
Dr Choudhury said that books on engineering were few and far between in Assam and it was a laudable effort on the part of the writer to come up with such a volume. He added that most civil engineering students did not exhibit interest towards bridge building, rendering bridge-building a neglected subject. �We hope the book will result in renewed interest in bridges,� he said.
