HAILAKANDI, Sept 29 - The issue of Durga Puja bonus for almost all the tea gardens falling under Hailakandi district has been settled amicably following discussions by the district administration with the tea estate managements. This was stated in an official release.
Of the 19 tea gardens in the district, bonus issue has been settled in the 18 tea gardens, barring Cutlacherra. Manipur TE has paid 15 per cent bonus, Dholai 20 per cent, Roopacherra 20 per cent, Vernerpur 20 per cent, Lallacherra 20 per cent, Lallamookh 20 per cent, Narsingpore 20 per cent, Sultanicherra 20 per cent, Bundookmara 20 per cent, Kunchonpore 18.50 per cent, Koyah 19.50 per cent, Monacherra 10 per cent (flat), Serispore 19 per cent, Chandypore 20 per cent, Burnie Braes 15 per cent, South Cachar 20 per cent, Aenakhal 20 per cent and Ramchandy TE 13 per cent (flat). According to District Labour Officer Alimuddin Barbhuiya, the tea garden management of Cutlacherra will make the bonus payment to the labourers within the deadline of Friday.
Meanwhile, Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora thanked the District Labour Officer for his efforts in settling the bonus issue with the tea garden managements amicably before the deadline set by the Government of Assam.
