�Bomb� creates panic at Guwahati Railway Station

GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - A polythene bag suspected to be containing explosive materials created panic among the public this morning at the Guwahati Railway Station.

The bag was recovered by a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF). It contained two suspected items and it was lying between Line No.10 and the southern boundary wall of the railway station.

A bomb disposal squad of the Special Branch of Assam Police rushed to the site and quickly checked the substance with their equipment before confirming that the it was not an explosive.

�It was observed during checking that some substances were wrapped with paper coating in a cylindrical shape and both its ends were connected with wires weighing about 200 gm each,� an RPF statement said, adding that the material would still be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for investigation.
