JORHAT, Jan 13 � The Bokul Ban Nyas, Assam, today announced the name of Dimbeswar Lahon for the Bokul Ban Award for the year 2015 for his invaluable contribution in the fields of folk culture and literature of the State. Dimbeswar Lahon is a resident of Lahon Gaon of the Chintamonigarh area in Jorhat district.

The award will be given away on January 27 next at the Chandra Kanta Handique Bhawan here in memory of former president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, Padmashree Ananda Chandra Barua, who was known as �Bokul Banar Kobi�.

The president of the Jorhat-based Nyas, Samiran Bordoloi, in a statement said that Dimbeswar Lahon has contributed to the Assamese diha naam and bhaona traditions in an exemplary way, and hence fully deserves such an honour.
