DIPHU, Aug 29 - Strong resentment has been prevailing among the Karbi community of Bokajan in particular due to the lackadaisical attitude of local MLA Dr Numal Momin Karbi in regard to the 2016 Zonal Karbi Youth Festival scheduled to be held at Japralangso . The people are apprehensive that due to the devil-could-care-no-less attitude of the MLA, the festival may face serious problems at the 11th hour.
According to the residents of the said area, the MLA had promised to provide an open stage at Japralangso playing field saying that in the ensuing 2017 ZKYF, the youths will perform their cultural items over a stage.
Expressing their annoyance, they stated that though ZKYF is just a month away and the open stage is still nothing more than a dream till now, they felt cheated by the BJP MLA. They also mentioned that till now the MLA has made lots of promises but has not yet delivered anything to them.
