Bodousa Cup from July 29

GUWAHATI, July 12 - The 7th Bodousa Cup All India Invitation Football Tournament will be hosted by the Bodousa Sports Club from July 29 to August 9. The tournament will be played at Tinsukia, Digboi, Namrup and Doomdooma simultaneously.

Informing about the championship in a press conference here today, the Bodousa Sports Club president Arunjyori Moran said, altogether 16 teams will be invited for the meet and teams like OIL, FC Green Valley, Assam Rifles, Nerka Club of Manipur, Manik FC of Sikkim, Assam Rifles, Moran Town Club, Trinayanjyoti FC, Tinsukia Railway, Namrup TC have already confirmed their participation. The organisers are also trying to hook in Aryan Club of Kolkata, Baarhoongkha AC and NF Railway.

Four teams will be given entry into the quarterfinal stage directly while four have to qualify from preliminary rounds.

The champion and runners up teams will get Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively as prize-money. Best disciplined team, best player of the final, highest scorer, best goalkeeper and best player of every match will also be presented cash award.

Assam Football Association secretary Ankur Dutta revealed that the State football body will provide all possible help in organising the tournament. Other organising body official Shah Miruz was also present in the press meet. A budget of Rs 47,54, 125 has been prepared to conduct the tournament.
