GUWAHATI, Feb 9: Sijou, a Bodo film written and directed by Vishal P Chaliha bagged best director, best Indian feature film, best debut filmmaker of feature film and best screen play writer awards at the Golden Sparrow International Film Festival, 2021 held at Tamil Nadu recently.

Produced by filmmaker Preeyam Kherkatary Chaliha and Omprakash Kherkatary, the film portrayed the story of Sijou, a kid from Saikhong Guri village near the Indo-Bhutan border who accidentally becomes a victim of the feudal land tenure system.

The film was shot in Arunachal Pradesh, Manas National Park and in the village of Saikhonguri, Baksa. The film is scheduled to be released by the end of 2021.
