GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - In a devastating fire, two godowns of Lakshmi Trading Company and Royal Marketing at Haldi Gali in the Athgaon area under Bharalu Police Station were badly damaged.
The fire broke out at 10 am. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. The godowns stored dry food and herbs, and hardware respectively, a local trader said.
Few fire tenders from different fire stations rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The entire exercise took over three hours.
It was the second such fire incident in the area in less than two months. The local people appreciated the quick arrival of the fire tenders and the police squad at the spot.
