BJP working sincerely for tea garden people: Himanta

TEZPUR, April 3 - Health and Finance Minister and NEDA convenor Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today took part in a number of massive election rallies and road shows at Dhekiajuli, Rangapara, Behali, Sotea and Tezpur to campaign for the BJP candidate of 9 No. Tezpur Parliamentary Constituency Pallab Lochan Das. Tezpur will go for polls on April 11 in the first phase.

At first he arrived at the Dhekiajuli TE playground and addressed a mammoth gathering. Here he said that BJP has always addressed tea garden labourers� issues. �During the Congress regime, tea garden people were simply used by the Congress as their vote bank. But today, the BJP is very sincerely working for their all-round development as a result of which already a good deal of welfare schemes have been introduced in the tea garden areas,� he said. It was followed by a road show taken out throughout Dhekiajuli town. Besides other senior BJP activists, the NEDA convenor was escorted by the candidate Pallab Lochan Das.

He then attended an election rally at Rangapara Railway field wherein he also addressed a huge gathering. He urged the people to make the nation�s Prime Minister Narendra Modi strong to make India one of the strongest countries in the world. Dr Sharma afterwards went to Behali to address another public meeting wherein he urged the people to come forward extending their helping hand towards making Modi�s hand stronger by casting their valuable votes to BJP on April 11.

After that he addressed a public gathering at Sootea at New Ketla Field. Putting an end to the day-long election campaign programme lastly, he attended two different election rallies at Milanpur and Swahid Bakori in Tezpur wherein he urged the people to vote for the BJP to keep the nation and the region safe from various anti-national forces. Then he took part in a road show programme throughout the town.

It needs mention here that in the morning, the State incharge for the ensuing Lok Sabha poll Mahendra Singh addressed mediapersons here and said that he is confident of winning all the Lok sabha seats in Assam.
