DIPHU, Feb 4 � The sudden entry of Sum Ronghang, the ex-CEM of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and the president of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) to the BJP has brought cheers to the saffron party workers in Karbi Anglong. After his formal joining in the BJP in Guwahati on Monday, Ronghang met his supporters at his Langpher MAC home constituency on Tuesday.
Talking to media, Ronghang assured to work hard following the protocol of the party for the interest of the people. Narrating the reason of leaving the Congress, he said that the lobbying system and family centric politics have been eating into the Congress party. �Because of moral conflict with a section of senior leaders, I was compelled to leave the Congress,� he said.
On the other hand, expressing jubilation over Ronghang�s entry into BJP, Dhansing Teron, general secretary, BJP, Karbi Anglong district unit, said the party has got an energetic worker. �Ronghang�s entry will strengthen the party in the hill district... we will able to defeat the rival party in the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections,� Teron said.
