BJP to highlight issue in Parliament

NEW DELHI, Aug 5 � Even as fresh violence has erupted, main opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its plan to stage a protest demonstration on Wednesday against the violence taking place in Assam. BJP national president, Nitin Gadkari will lead the protest march.

The BJP has lined up its top national leaders to highlight the violence in BTAD area on a day, when the Monsoon Session of the Parliament gets under way.�NDA chairman LK Advani, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, former national president Rajnath Singh, Ananth Kumar besides Gadkari are slated to participate in the protest rally at Jantar Mantar, national general secretary Vijay Goel announced on Sunday.

The BJP has decided to take up the issue of planned violence against the locals both within and outside the Parliament. On the opening day of the Monsoon Session protest will be held at Jantar Mantar and during the course of the Parliament session this issue will be raised in the Parliament too, the BJP said.

Advani in his recent visit to Assam had conveyed his displeasure with the state of affairs in the state and stated that this is a clear foreigner versus an Indian issue and that the state and Central governments are siding with the illegal foreign settlers in the state.
