BJP takes out rally against price hike

TEZPUR, May 31 � The Sonitpur district committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday took out a huge rally in protest against the steep price hike of essential commodities including petroleum products.

The rally participated by more than a hundred of BJP workers passed through the main road of the town shouting slogan against the ruling Congress Government. The protest rally started from Hem Baruah hall was followed by a public meeting addressed by the district BJP�s senior office bearer Dulan Sharma.

Addressing the public Sharma, alleged that the present ruling Congress Government is against the people, which has allegedly been subsiding the common people�s interest. In the name of democracy the State Government is carrying out anarchism in every field posing a serious threat to the people of the State, he said adding that in the name developmental works in the State corruption is getting much priority. He urged all concerned to come forward to stand against the ongoing rampant corruption by the State Government and urged the Government to deal with the issue of steep price hike sincerely considering the plight of the common people.
