BJP seeks Gogoi Govts dismissal

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 29 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday came down heavily on the Tarun Gogoi Government for failing to check the violence that marred yesterdays Assam bandh sponsored by the All Assam Minorities Students Union (AAMSU).

BJP national vice president Bijoya Chakravorty said that the Tarun Gogoi Government has no right to be in power after what happened yesterday in different parts of the State.

Addressing media persons here, Chakravorty said that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi should be removed at the earliest in the interest and security of the State.

This Government has proved its inefficiency many times before and it again proved that there is no rule of law in Assam. If the Government had acted strong, the violent incidents that send shock waves amongst the peace loving people of Assam would not have occurred, said Charavorty regretting that the Government has given AAMSU the license to create unrest in Assam.

It is only because of the Government that the AAMSU has been perpetrating violence in Assam, said Chakravorty. On the other hand, the BJP, Assam Pradesh today took put a peace march calling out to save Assam and the North East from the divisive forces. The party also submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam demanding sealing of the India Bangla border by January 26, 2013 and immediate arrest of AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmal for fomenting communal trouble.

The party has also demanded arrest of those who attacked the scribes during the Assam bandh yesterday.
